- Line 1: To dispel ignorance, it furthers one to punish people. Remove the shackles. To go on brings humiliation.
- Line 2: Show patience and gentleness toward the ignorant. A woman should not marry. The moon is nearly full.
- Line 3: Do not take a maiden who sees a bronze man and loses herself. Nothing furthers.
- Line 4: Entangled folly brings humiliation. Only through patience can clarity emerge.
- Line 5: Childlike folly brings good fortune. Be open to learning from others.
- Line 6: In punishing folly, it does not further one to commit transgressions. Only through correction can progress be made.
